Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing enzymatic ligation and downstream processes at the lab scale and developing and scaling them up for large-scale production. This role requires a deep understanding of chemical/biochemical engineering principles, practical experience with bioreactors, and a strong background in membrane technology
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement enzymatic ligation processes to ensure high yield and quality at large scales
Optimize and scale-up downstream processes, including ultrafiltration, diafiltration, and chromatography
Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate new technologies and improve process efficiency
Act as a liaison between laboratory and plant, contributing process characterization, implementation, troubleshooting to ensure robust processes
Maintain documentation and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Provide technical leadership and training to junior engineers and technicians
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s, Master’ or PhD’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in bioprocessing, specifically with enzymatic ligation and downstream purification
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory guidelines
Strong knowledge of biocatalysts is a plus
