Interon Laboratories

Position: Scientist/Senior Scientist –Small Molecule Drug Discovery

Location: Boston, MA

Company: Interon Laboratories

About Us

Interon Laboratories is a preclinical-stage biotechnology company focused on advancing small-molecule therapeutics targeting neuro-immune signaling pathways. We combine deep expertise in cytokine biology, receptor pharmacology, and translational neuroscience to develop next-generation treatments for complex disorders.

Position Summary

We are seeking highly motivated Scientist/Senior Scientists to join our discovery biology team. The successful candidates will lead efforts to design and execute cellular assays that interrogate cytokine receptor signaling, conduct protein binding assays, and support small molecule medicinal chemistry campaigns. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment at the interface of biology, chemistry, and pharmacology.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze cellular and biochemical assays to study cytokine and receptor signaling pathways.

• Develop, miniaturize, and optimize high-throughput screening (HTS) assays for small-molecule discovery.

• Develop, optimize, and run protein-to-protein and protein-to-small molecule interaction assays.

• Collaborate with medicinal chemists and computational biologists to drive structure–activity relationships (SAR) development.

• Apply understanding of protein structure and ligand–receptor interactions to guide hit validation and mechanism-of-action studies.

• Present experimental results and scientific insights to project teams and leadership.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline.

• 3+ years of relevant postdoctoral or industry experience (biotech/pharma preferred).

• Strong expertise in cell signaling, with a focus on cytokine or receptor-mediated pathways preferred.

• Hands-on experience with protein-protein interaction, protein-small molecule interaction, assay development, and miniaturization for HTS.

• Proficiency in data analysis and quantitative interpretation of biological assays.

• Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Why Join Us

• Be part of an innovative, mission-driven team translating cutting-edge neuro-immunology into transformative therapeutics.

• Work closely with experienced scientists across immunology and neuroscience in a highly collaborative environment.

• Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and growth opportunities in a rapidly advancing company.
